Delicious field pea patties
Field peas thrive even up here in the north. One of my readers sent me this recipe for field pea patties and I just love them!
- 1 3/4 oz chopped and pan-fried onion
- 2 pressed garlic cloves
- 2 eggs
- 1 tbsp water
- 1 tsp chili flakes
- 1 tsp green pepper
- 1/3 cup (3/4 dl) breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cups (around 100 g) coarsely chopped boiled field peas (dry peas need to soak in water before you boil them)
I got this recipe from one of my readers, Tina Frödin. The field pea is a neat little pea that you don't see very often in the supermarket, but I think everyone should grow it if they can.
Mix all the ingredients except for the breadcrumbs and the peas. Add these in the end.
Make 8 patties and pan-fry in oil or butter.
You can use your field pea patties for burgers, or simply serve them with mashed potatoes.
